How to use Smileys in Email Using Smileys in a Email is very simple. All you do is put your mouse over the graphic, do a copy, then in your email do a paste. While most email systems allow you to add graphics to your email unfortunatly their are a few out there that do not. But this will work for the most common ones like Outlook, Outlook express, Yahoo, etc. How to use Smileys in IM You can use them in Yahoo Instant Messenger, but you would have to cordinate the change with your friends so that you both see the same smileys. To change your smileys in Yahoo just save the smiley you want as either 0.gif, 1.gif,-- 10.gif and then again as 0.bmp, 1.bmp,-- 10.jpg into this folder: C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media\smileys If you look at that foler you will understand what I am saying. The .gif file is what you see in your messge. The .bmp file is what shows in the yahoo box of smileys. MSN Messenger does not allow you to change the smileys so if you are using MSN messenger, you can't use them. These are the only 2 Instant Messengers I have used so I can not help you with the others. How to use Smileys on a message board The Best Smileys pages were designed for Message Boards. Most message boards use the [img] [/img] codes which means all you have to do is copy the code and paste it into your message. However, some message boards require HTML to add smileys to your message. If this is the case then instead of using the [img] code provided on the page, you must type in Of course where http:// is you put the url of the graphic which you can get by copying the code from the message board without the [img][/img] part. Of course there are a few messege boards that do not allow graphics (boaring) in which case there is nothing we can do. Can I use these on my website Not only can you use them, but I allow direct linking so you don't have to even worry about hosting them. Is Direct Linking allowed Yep. This is one of the few sites that does allow direct linking. I have unlimited bandwith with Yahoo so direct link all you like. My graphic is not moving in my email Some times when you paste a graphic in a email it does not move, but, when you send it, it will move when the person reciveing the email views it. Can you send me Smileys Yes, I have been asked this several times. All you have to do is put your mouse over the graphic and right mouse click and save it to your hard drive. It would take me forever to send these through email.
